what is human anyway

Balthazar being a charming bastard. Dear lord, he's humongous by human standards.

I finally have a design I like for Tempest's eyes. :D They're supposed to run down his back, his chest and his arms though. I'll work on that on the next image I have, as well as pronouncing his bottom jaw to emphasize bite power.

Yoloxochitl's coloring. She's such a lovely lady.

*W*

why hello there sexy lady~

I am totally in love with Yoloxochitl's body. She's lean and she's curvy and she can and will rip your organs out of your belly if you so much as mess with her. Oh, and she enjoys reading, poetry and the occasional romancing.

Even if it's from a building-tall killing machine.

Did I mention she's nearly 6 feet tall?

NaNoWriMo 2010

Hey guys, it is October 31 on my end of the globe and you know what that means! Yup, Nanowrimo 2010 will be happening tomorrow. It will officially mark the first year anniversary of The Mourning Son as well, and Noah's birthday. I sincerely hope I can get ahead with My Xeno Romance [i also sincerely hope to find a less hilarious title] and actually finish it.

For those of you not in the know, here's a little overview of what my story's about:

The war was won. Well, that's what they said at the time at least. The mightiest heroes had struck down the villain, the cloud of tyranny was dispelled from the land. Fairy tale stuff. All that was missing was the happy ending.

It never happened.

For every cause, there is an effect. When a tyrant had legions of monsters under his rule, and you killed him, well. Things kind of go downhill from there. Untethered, the big bad monsters wrecked havoc on the land. Villages were wiped off the face of the map, kingdoms crumbled. The waters ran red with blood and the heavens shook with the screams. And suddenly, humans didn’t feel that mighty anymore.

But they didn’t give up either. Even while reeling from The War, from The Crisis, humans forced themselves to stand and take arms. To drive the monster scum back and snuff their existence. And it worked, for the most part.

more doodles

More pencil doodles! Also, in my efforts to scan this, my sketch pad fell apart. :( Now I remember why I don't buy sketch pads that aren't spring-bound.

Apostle and his Anubis mask. Dude really needs his peripheral vision but seeing as he is not dead yet, that's a good sign. I wonder how he can stand Philippine weather in leather though.

Did a little more work on that Joshua/Honor piece. :D

Monster of God. The Seven Eyed Snake. Tempter of God's First Humans.

Finally finished that Yoloxochitl sketch and I am pretty proud of it. :)

workdoodles

I drew these at work :3 But I totally do work when I am at work. I swear! Haven't really been working with pencil for a while. I think this is my first real pencil sketch in, ah, three months? At least, the first one that doesn't look like absolute crap.

First official sketch of Yoloxochitl. Her hair still needs to be shaded in. Our heroine for NaNoWriMo 2010, Yol is my first female protagonist in a long time. I've always put off writing female protagonists because I feared writing female characters all wrong. A little bit more confident this time around though! Yol can be very easily described as tough enough to top Tempest. If only he were human sized.

Joshua/Honor, because where would we be without our little dose of unhealthy dysfunctional relationship? I am seriously loving the clinical look on Joshua's face.

Tempest says, I has a mate ^W^
Dorking around with his design. I think I am pretty happy with how that is shaping up. Also, she is so tiny! Well, compared to Tempest at least. Yol is at least 5'9" and much bigger than most (human) ladies. More or less, I've fixed on the idea that Tempest is part horse, part dog and part lizard. He really needs one more tail to balance out his design.

And the abovementioned mate, Yoloxochitl which is Aztec for "flower in the heart". She is a lady knight who is supposed to save the allegedly dead princess of society. After her encounter with Tempest, she is never seen again. She's pictured here with her usual face paint, which I based off an image of an Aztec warrior.

Why yes, thanks to a friend who planted the brainseed, this story will be post-Apoc Aztec/Filipino-Spanish. I shit you not.

Holy fuck yes, I love painting teeth.

Also, his name is Tempest.

show me your teeth

As most of you know, I'll be joining this year's NaNoWriMo with a story about a post-Apocalyptic world where a monster and a human meet and fall in love. Come on, you know it's romantic. Monster meets human, human tries to kill monster, monster kind of wants to eat human.

Been putzing around with designs, so here's our leading hero, the monster.

His base painting was kind of bland as I just got it down right after work. No real idea of what I wanted except for TEETH TEETH TEETH.

Did some scale roughs. That human is TINY in his hands. Also a vague idea of what I wanted for full body design. Not really happy with that and still working on it. He's supposed to be climbing a mountain or a rockface in that right doodle, just in case you're wondering why he's being all \\\o///

Most recent shot of the image. Yes, I'm pretty proud of this one. Planning to remove the hair/muscle/bandages soon and replacing it with so many eyes. Aiming to have at least thirty eyes on his head alone.

Got some doodles done of the leading lady, who is a female knight with a split tongue. Have I ever told you how messy my creative process and story building process is? I have no idea what the story really is about until I get down and write it.

Balthazar

His name is Balthazar and he's a bastard. Humans have gouged out his eyes and tried to blow apart his head at close range. Thankfully he's got healing. Not so fortunately, the healing couldn't exactly fix him up so he has a nasty reminder every day for the cruelty of humans.

well, in addition to the various objects of pointy in his chest.
